Responding
to the demand for an ultimate luxury automobile that can be
custom-tailored to meet the needs of the most discerning customer,
Mercedes-Benz revived the celebrated Maybach brand, named
for Wilhelm Maybach, engineer of the first Mercedes, which
ushered in the modern automobile age.
Blending 21st-century technology with classic hand craftsmanship,
the Maybach 62 sedan has been designed with the performance
and comfort of a luxury jet in mind. From the hand-fitted
Grand Nappa leather and Alcantara-trimmed headliner and pillars
to the deep-nap velour carpeting and fine wood trim –
in a choice of cherry, walnut or amboyna – the Maybach’s
interior is a triumph of styling.
Measuring 242.5 inches long on a 150.7-inch wheelbase, the
Maybach 62 is the longest production automobile in the world.
Rear passengers are treated to two fully reclining plush seats,
better to enjoy the separate front and rear climate–control
systems, DVD audiovisual system with dual flat–screen
monitors, a Bose® 21-speaker, concert-quality surround
sound system and rear center console with refrigerator compartment.
It takes nearly four months to build and deliver one of these
extraordinary automobiles. This leisurely, deliberate pace
allows for the indulgence of individual customer requests.
Specifications Engine: Twin-turbocharged V-12 delivers
543 hp. Performance: Accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds;
top speed is 106 mph. Transmission: 5-speed automatic. Features:
SBC™ electronic braking system, Airmatic DC air suspension,
Electronic Stability Program (ESP), supplemental restraint
system with 10 airbags, bi-xenon headlight system with high-pressure
cleaning system, 528 LED taillights, infinitely adjustable
