Fisher
Island’s Private Palazzos and Villas
 |

There’s nothing better than getting away from it all
– without the hassle of actually having to “get
there.” All it takes is a yacht, ferry or helicopter
to whisk you from Miami to Fisher Island, an exclusive picture-book
luxury community on Biscayne Bay. At the arrival ramp, uniformed
attendants stand ready with hoses to wash the sea salt off
the Bentleys, Jaguars and Mercedes that disembark from the
ferries. Though people bring their cars to the island, there’s
virtually no traffic – the real definition of paradise.
At Fisher Island you have your choice of $3.9 million Private
Villas, ranging from 5,000 to 6,100 square feet, or the
new tower of 34 suites starting at $2.25 million being built
at Palazzo del Mare, the most palatial residential structure
ever to rise on the 216-acre enclave. With spectacular views
of the Miami skyline, Biscayne Ba y and the Atlantic, suites
range in size from 3,500 to more than 7,000 square feet
and from three bedrooms with three and a half baths to five
bedrooms with five and a half baths. Included in the largest
units: a den and a library. Kitchens feature gas stoves,
built-in cappuccino makers, custom cabinets and Gaggenau
and Sub-Zero appliances. You have the option of consulting
the in-house design team or choosing fully furnished units.
Privacy and the ultimate in personal service – including
a private concierge to handle requests 24/7 whether you’re
home or away – are also included. And you can take
advantage of individual garages, guest suites, a Pilates
studio, private steam and massage rooms and a movie theatre.
Palazzo del Mare is scheduled to be completed in 2006.
Once the private winter retreat of William K. Vanderbilt,
Fisher Island is now home to more than 600 of the world’s
leading families, many of whom have second, third and fourth
homes here. Island guests receive complimentary use of all
the Fisher Island Club amenities, including a world-class
tennis center, a championship P.B. Dye-designed golf course,
a renowned spa and fitness center, two deep-water marinas,
six gourmet restaurants and a mile-long stretch of white-sand
beach. If you’re not staying at a private residence,
you’ll want to book a suite or villa at The Fisher
Island Hotel & Resort, a member of Leading Hotels of
the World.
For those who want to shop until they drop, Bal Harbour
is about 15 minutes away.
No stone is unturned on this island, where all the tropical
temptations are ready and waiting. |
