Patricia Ready is the director Galeria de Arte Patricia Ready in Santiago, Chile.
Background:
Patricia Ready began her activities in art after having studied Art Theory at the Universidad Catolica de Chile, where she discovered the richness of contemporary art language. She has attended a number of seminars both in Chile and abroad, the main ones being “Politicas Culturales en Chile” (Cultural Policies in Chile), in 1992, and “Innovative Associations in the Arts”, held in Columbus, Ohio, USA.
The place where she first worked as a restorer became the Centro Cultural “Mulato Gil de Castro”, there she established the Galeria Arte Actual. Later she moved with the Gallery to the Center of Extension of the Catholic University of Chile. Simultaneously, she opened a Gallery in La Dehesa which was also named after her.
After 27 years of work, acquainted now with the profession of gallerist, and having observed during all these years the artists’ need to exhibit their work, she created a new space as a contribution to the community, to art, and to cultural development, building a space for exhibitions, discussion, and eduction in art.
