Sondra Gilman has been involved in theater for over 25 years. Through the Gilman and Gonzalez-Falla Musical Theater Foundation she participated in over 21 Broadway, Off Broadway and Regional productions, over ten musical theatre albums and various musical festivals, readings, showcases and fellowship grants. She was Tony nominated as a producer of the award winning Broadway musical Sophisticated Ladies.

She is a past Vice-President and member of the Executive Committee of the Whitney Museum of American Art as well as Chair of many acquisition committees. She helped create the photography collection at the Whitney and both the Photography Curatorial Chair and the Photography Gallery are named after her. ArtNews Magazine named her one of the Top 25 Photography Collectors today.
