Victoria Febrer is a Spanish artist who divides her time between New York City and Valencia, Spain.
Education: Born in New York City in 1985, she has studied artistic anatomy with Michael Burban at The Art Student's League of New York and recently finished her studies in printmaking, drawing, and painting at the illustrious Cooper Union School of Art. She has studied photogravure with master printer Lothar Osterburg, serigraphy with internationally exhibited artist Lorenzo Clayton, and copperplate etching and experimental printmaking with professional printer Lorena Salcedo-Watson and renowned artist Day Gleeson, respectively.
Exhibitions: The artist's last solo exhibition, Vistas y Vinografías, took place in the city of Valencia from the 25th of October to the 11th of November, 2008. Her first solo exhibition, Femina et Ovum took place in February of 2008 in New York. More recently, she created a special limited edition of Vinographic relief prints to commemorate the presentation of the Hispanic Society of America's Meet the Duchess program. The edition was presented as a gift to the Hispanic Society of America's supporters at the official act of the Meet the Duchess program's presentation. In October, one of her pieces was included in the Hispanic Society of America's benefit auction, organized as part of the prestigious Sorolla Awards presentation. The artist's paintings, prints and books have previously been shown in the Cooper Union EOYS Exhibitions in 2004, 2005, and 2007. Her hand-bound artist's books have also been exhibited as part of the yearly collaborative exhibition The Art of the Book curated by Margaret Morton in 2005 and 2007. One of her drawings was also included as a part of the interactive exhibition Stranger Drawings curated by Emily Grenader.
