Biography

William R. Griffith is a member of the Life Sciences Health Industry Group of the New York law firm Reed Smith.

Education:
1974 J.D., National Law Center at George Washington University
1970 A.B., Brown University, Political Science

Background:
In the mid 1980s he became Vice President and General Counsel of a publicly traded (NASDAQ) telecommunications company that, at the time, was the largest non-bell interconnect company in the U.S.  Bill supervised the $250 million sale of that company’s operations and then returned to private practice.  He has acted in a general counsel role for a number of his clients over the years, including acting as outside-coordinating counsel for all U.S. legal activities of what was then the largest Australian-based health care company, serving on a number of boards of subsidiary companies and special management groups reporting directly to, and advising, the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors of that company.  He has also served as a director of a publicly traded (NASDAQ) generic pharmaceutical company.
