The lifestyle collection of Kat Burki Home furnishings resonates both style and grace; the look is “updated classicism”. The line embodies the classic style, spirit and lifestyle of its founder and creative director, Kat Burki.
In order to complete the look she wanted, she commissioned the work to expert home furnishing artisans. She went to France for its style and true understanding of chic, to Italy for its ability to produce the best in bedding, to Turkey for its superior towels and robes, and looked in the U.S. for upholstery and furniture pieces, where quality and style are top priority.
The combination is both beautiful and extraordinary, with over two hundred unique fabric selections.
The upholstery line is created with great attention to shapes and curvatures typically found in classic antique pieces. Upholstery pieces are made to order, with peg and dowel construction, horse-hair wrapped springs and thickly wrapped down cushioning.
The lighting is handmade in a Paris workshop. Ms. Burki personally designs all pieces of the collection, inspiring creative ideas from unique sources.
The bedding lines “Kai” and “Natsu” are designed from antique kimono prints before meeting with manufacturers in Italy for fabric selections and construction designs.
Ms. Burki loves fashion as much as interior design and feels that the two go hand in hand. A Spring and Fall collection will be shown each year, as they are in the fashion world. Materials are carefully selected from the best sources. The lace on the Etienne pillows was selected from the same lace manufacturer in Italy used by couture designers, such as Dior and Galliano. All lines are updated but withstand the test of time, remaining timeless, classic and chic. The philosophy behind her collection is that just as a classic Chanel suit from the 1960’s is still wearable because of its solid construction, it is also wearable because it is the most stylish and chicest outfit at any modern day event.
Ram's Head Table.

Her interior design career started with a bang and has been featured in several books and magazines.
