Borgo San Jacopo, 14
50125 Florence, Italy
Based alongside the Arno River, between Ponte Vecchio and Ponte Santa Trinita, Hotel Lungarno features 73 luxurious rooms, including 13 elegant suites in the heart of Florence.
The hotel's living room windows provide a stunning view of the Ponte Vecchio and the palazzi facing the river.
The interior design, inspired by the nuova classicità, boasts a smart balance of ivory-toned fabrics and ocean-blue carpets, featuring details that recall the elegance of an aristocratic Italian home, with ample space to relax.
The antique furnishings and the collection of 20th-century paintings displayed in the common areas and guest rooms, are part of the hotel's endowed originals, blending the past with the future.
The guest rooms are furnished so as to provide maximum comfort and aesthetic value, with a collection of contemporary paintings and silver trays with fragrances and typical Italian specialties. Marble and nickel taps and fittings in the bathrooms are the most distinct signs of the décor. The rooms feature sensory-activated lights, air conditioning and heating controls.
Features and Services: Free Internet WI-FI, satellite TV and pay-TV, fax line, direct telephone, air conditioning. Laundry service, room service, limousine and garage on request.
Suite Cocteau, Suite Bueno, Suite Picasso and Suite Torre are the hotel's most prestigious suites and are part of the Lungarno Suites Collection.
Lungarno Apartments: Hotel Lungarno also has a number of apartments with independent access, offering the intimacy of a private home and the convenience of hotel services. Each apartment has a hall, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully fitted kitchen and a living room with a dining area.
Borgo San Jacopo: The hotel enjoys privileged access to the Borgo San Jacopo restaurant, the city's dining room on the river. Through an adjoining lounge, guests can access the restaurant, which draws upon the tradition of the great cucina Italiana offering artfully classic and reinvented dishes, such as fritto all'italiana and home-made bread and pasta, all under the skilled management of chef Beatrice Segoni, owner of the renowned Torcoletto restaurant in Porto Recanati, Ancona. The restaurant rediscovers the traditions of a bygone era, carefully presented in a refreshingly modern, retro architectural setting.
Considered as a place for friendly get-togethers, it is the ideal mix between a dining room and a local club. The décor by architect Michele Bönan was inspired by the energetic and sophisticated glam of the 50's, the Italian “new deal” and the birth of "Made in Italy," an era also closely tied to the extraordinary creativity of Salvatore Ferragamo, the "shoemaker of dreams." The walls are graced with re-produced designs, sketches and images of this magical fashion era.
The two levels of dining feature an arch-shaped window facing the river through an elongated architectural perspective. The concept and refurbishment follow the contemporary design evolution of the hotel. The custom-made lighting reflects the atmosphere of a 50's motion picture and was designed to provide intimacy, while focusing on the centre of the table and its décor, without obscuring the view of the other guests.
Two grand mirrors, positioned opposite one another in front of the mezzanine area, generate an infinite space, which transports the magical evening riverview to the guests' tables. The soft linen and cotton furnishings in varying tones of white with grey mineral notes, complement both the oak floors and the black/brown details, adding a fresh yet classic character.
Bar Lungarno: The gathering place for a smart, international clientele, the Lungarno bar is a uniquely charming salon overlooking the river. The great windows flooding the room with light, together with the sparkling reflections from the Arno, confer a sensation of sailing gently over the water. As you sip a drink in front of the fireplace or on the terrace, your gaze will be caught by precious furnishings and paintings by Picasso, Rosai and Cocteau. Here you will breathe an atmosphere of magic and enchantment, an invitation to experience Florence at its finest.
CAPPONI SUITE: Steps away from Hotel Lungarno is the Capponi Suite in the splendid Renaissance Palazzo Capponi, one of the most prestigious residences in the city, facing the charming and picturesque Ponte Santa Trinita and Via Tornabuoni. This 2,100 square-foot apartment-suite features a more private, personalized and exclusive hotel service.
SALA POCCETTI: The large reception hall at the unusual and prestigious Sala Poccetti, with 16th century frescoes and adjacent annex rooms on the main floor of Palazzo Capponi, is available for conferences, meetings and private gatherings, along with catering services and state-of-the-art technology.
SALA GUARNIERI: This room is part of the main body of the hotel directly facing the river. It is available for private meetings or parties with full service, high technology and personalized catering.
