The André Sobel River of Life Foundation held its first Annual Event on July 22 at the Santa Barbara, California estate of Patrick Nesbitt. Patty DeDominic and Dana Goldinger were the event chairs.

The Foundation was founded by Valerie Sobel to enable single parents/caregivers of children with life-threatening illnesses to care for their children full time by relieving financial burdens when other resources are exhausted and unavailable. The foundation's goal is to provide assistance within 24 hours. Established in 2000, the Foundation has launched a major expansion and their programs now operate in pediatric hospitals nationwide.
