On
November 28, the world renowned Alvin
Ailey American Dance Theater kicked
off six months of U.S. performances with an
exciting Opening Night Gala performance and
Party in New York. The performance featured
the company premiere of Firebird,
choreographed by Maurice Béjart, Reflections
in D, a solo Mr. Ailey created for himself
in 1962, and the world famous Revelations.
The gala raised over 2.7 million dollars for
all of Ailey’s important programs with
support from over 1300 patrons.
