On
November 6, the Asia Society held
its star-studded Annual Dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria
in New York. The evening honored H.E. Ban Ki-Moon,
Secretary General of The United Nations and Neville
Isdell, chairman and CEO of The Coca-Cola
Company. A Special Cultural Achievement Award was given
to Yoshio Taniguchi, architect and
principal of Taniguchi and Associates. Shahram
Nazeri was given the Lifetime Cultural Heritage
Award. Barry Diller, chairman
and CEO , IAC was Gala chairman. Ajay Banga,
chairman and CEO Global Consumer Group International,
Citbank and Martin J. Sullivan, president
and CEO American International Group, Inc. were chairmen
of the evening.
