The
Women's Board of Barrow Neurological Institute (Barrow),
celebrated 43 years of fundraising Saturday,
January 19th at the Arizona Biltmore Resort and
Spa. The 2008 Barrow Grand Ball was the
culmination of a year of planning for this glorious
intimate event chaired by Karen Hobbs and Ruth
Lavinia.
Diana Balich, chairman of the
Women's Board, announced to the 350-plus
guests that net proceeds from the Ball was $3.5
million, which included a final $1-million gift
as part of a multi-year commitment from the Steele
Foundation.
Proceeds from the Ball go directly to research
teams to create the miracles that you so often
read about. The cutting-edge research and
technological advances that have come as a result
of patron generosity continue to benefit the community,
state and patients nationwide.
Special thanks were given to the many distinguished
benefactors attending the Ball, including Dan
Cracchiolo of the Steele Foundation and
his wife, Pam Grant. Appreciation
was extended to Julie Ann Wrigley for
underwriting this year's Ball and St. Joseph's
Hospital and Medical Center for their support along
with the dedicated professionals at Barrow Neurological
Institute and Barrow Neurological Foundation.
