Music Director James Levine and the Boston
Symphony Orchestra (BSO) opened their 2007-08
concert season on October 4, with an all-Ravel program
featuring mezzo-soprano Susan Graham and
pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet at Symphony
Hall in Boston, MA. The orchestra launched its
127th season with Ravel's Alborada del gracioso. Ms.
Graham joined the BSO for Shéhérzade for
mezzo-soprano and orchestra, and Mr. Thibaudet performed
Ravel's Piano Concerto in G. The Opening
Night at Symphony program closed with the second suite
from Daphnis et Chloé.
The concert was followed by a gala dinner at The Fairmont
Copley Plaza. Lisbeth Tarlow and Stephen
Kay were the chairmen of the benefactor event. The
Benefactor Committee included Lorraine and Alan
