Calvary Hospital's 23rd
Annual Awards Dinner Dance took place on June
21 at The Pierre in New York City. 450
people attended and the evening raised $500,000
to benefit Calvary Hospital.
Nicholas D'Agostino, Jr., chairman & CEO
of D'Agostino Supermarkets Inc., received
the Calvary Medal. Larry Norton,
MD, Deputy Physician-in-Chief, Memorial
Hospital for Breast Cancer Programs, Memorial
Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, received the
Annie Blount Storrs Award. Manfred
Altstadt, senior executive vice
president & CFO, Mutual of America, received
the Distinguished Trustee Service Award. Al
Roker, co-host of NBC Today was
the evening's Master of Ceremonies.
Since
its founding in 1899, Calvary Hospital has
been devoted to providing care to adult patients
in the advanced stages of cancer, addressing
the symptoms of the disease, not its cure. Operated
in connection with the Archdiocese of New York,
Calvary is a voluntary, not-for-profit hospital,
embodying a tradition of caring through its many
programs and services.
