Nearly
900 guests turned out on June 7 to celebrate Central
Park at the Central
Park Conservancy's Taste
of Summer benefit.
Hosted under a beautiful
white tent hoisted over the Park's Bandshell, the event
drew a carefree crowd to dine, mingle, dance
and bid on a luxury silent auction. Chef
and restaurateur Jean-Georges Vongerichten was
the host of the evening's VIP Café,
which featured dishes from his restaurants,
Jean-Georges and 66.
There to wine and dine
were Marcia
Mishaan, Tim and Nina
Zagat, Allessandra Balasz, Annelise Peterson,
John Stossel, Leslie Keno, Lottie Oakley,
Paola Isabella Rocha Tornito, Cece and Lee
Black, Woody Johnson, Susan Ircha and Parks & Recreation
Commissioner Adrian Benepe, among
many others.
More than 35 of New York's top restaurants
participated in the event. Guests gathered
at the restaurant's booths to sample
a variety of dishes from delectable summer
soups to sinfully delicious desserts. Restaurants
included Fred's at Barney's New
York, SUSHISAMBA, Lever
House, Vento Trattoria, Zocalo,
Thalassa, Toqueville, Osteria del Circo, Orsay and
Central Park's very own Boathouse.
