The Chicago
Symphony Orchestra opened its season on
September 15 at Symphony Center with the legendary
conductor Riccardo Muti and
soprano Barbara Frittoli.
The concert was followed by a gala black tie dinner
dance attended by seven hundred guests at Millennium
Park. Over $600,000 was raised for the Chicago Symphony.
Chairing the Gala were Kay and Jim
Mabie. Committee members included Chester
Gougis and Shelley Ochab, Matthew and Kay
Bucksbaum, Mitzi and Cyrus Freidheim,
Anne and Bill Goldstein, Cathy and William
Osborne, Diane and Byron Karzas and Sandy and William
Strong.
