A
near capacity crowd of 1,300 people attended the 52nd
Annual Gold Coast Fashion Award Show, the signature
fundraising event of The Children's Service Board,
an affiliated organization of Children's
Memorial Hospital. The show was held on October
5 at the Chicago Hilton and Towers.
This year's show raised more than $450,000.
Proceeds from the show will go towards The Children's
Service Board's commitment to support the needs
and programs of Children's Memorial, including
the new hospital in Streeterville. The event's
co-chairs were Nancy Fendley Novosel and Felicia
Ferguson Winiecki.
This year's Gold Coast Fashion Award went to Gustavo
Cadile whose Fall/Winter 2007 collection
delighted the audience with his elegant evening wear.
Last year's winner, Dennis Basso,
opened the show with his fall collection and was
on hand to accept the award.
Children's Memorial Hospital, Chicago, is recognized
as one of the top pediatric hospitals in the country
by rankings published in U.S. News & World
Report. Its physicians are on the faculty
at the Northwestern University's Feinberg School
of Medicine. As a not-for-profit organization, Children's
Memorial relies on philanthropy to help provide care
to 103,000 patients and their families every year.
