October 1, over 450 guests attended the first annual Events
of the Heart Benefit Gala at Jazz at Lincoln
Center. The event raised over $1 million.
Hosted by Joy Behar, the event honored Dr.
Mehmet Oz, and featured original pieces
written by Joan Juliet Buck, Judy
Gold, Susan Miller and Carole
Radziwill performed by Marcia
Gay Harden, Bob Balaban, Saidah
Ekulona, Jill Eikenberry, Judy
Gold, Cady Huffman, Sherri
Shepherd, Brenda Strong, Holland
Taylor, and Lynn Whitfield.
Co-founded by Pamela Serure and Carole
Isenberg, Events of the Heart's mission
is to produce unifying events identifying heart disease
as the #1 killer of women. Revenues raised from these
events will go to organizations committed awareness,
education and research.
