Award-winning
actor Gabriel Byrne hosted a Grand Classics screening
of The Quiet Man presented by THE WEEK and co-sponsored
by The Diamond Trading Company at Soho House on Tuesday, June 3. Byrne
showcased the 1952 film The Quiet Man directed
by John Ford who received an Oscar for Best Director. The
movie starred John Wayne, best known for his Oscar
winning lead performance in 1969’s True
Grit and Maureen O’Hara who
received a lifetime achievement award in 2004. The evening benefited FilmAid
International, a nonprofit organization that uses the power
of film to change lives.
Guests including designers Maggie Norris, Alvin Valley, Project
Runway’s Elisa Jimenez and Michael
Mione, Christy Scott Cashman, James Ginty, Ann
Dexter Jones, Kipton Cronkite, Emma Snowdon Jones, Emma Shilling
