Guests
donned their Hamptons best for the Group for
the East End gala benefit on June 16 at the
Wolffer Estate in Sagaponack, NY. Among the over 530
guests helping the East End's foremost
environmental organization celebrate its 35th anniversary
were Fisher Stevens, Jay McInerney and Anne
Hearst McInerney, Bettina Zilkha, Arden
Wohl, Nicole Miller, Olivia
Chantecaille, Somers and Jonathan
Farkas, Tatiana Platt, Meredith
Melling Burke, Jay and Tracey
Snyder, Ferebee Bishop Taube and Darcy
Jones. During the dinner portion of
the evening Ann Colley and Group for
the East End president, Bob DeLuca,
gave special thanks to everyone involved. Sotheby's Jamie
Niven took the stage after dinner was served
to MC the fun live auction. The event helped to raise
a record $790,000 for the group.
The Group for the East End is a volunteer-directed, professionally
staffed, not-for-profit environmental advocacy organization
established in 1972. The Group is dedicated to protecting
the environment, rural character and quality of life
across the East End through public advocacy and public
education. The Group is the only professionally-staffed,
not-for-profit organization dedicated to using public
advocacy to protect our region's diverse wetlands, bays
and harbors, forests, coastlines, farmlands and historic
community character.
