On
November 9 the Guggenheim Museum held
its annual International Gala in Central Park. This
year's honorees were an exceptional group of artists
including, Marina Abramović, John
Baldessari, Louise Bourgeois, Cai
Guo-Qiang, Zaha Hadid, William
Kentridge, and Hiroshi Sugimoto.
The Gala also honored business leader Jack Wadsworth.
The evening featured remarks by special guest Mayor
Michael R. Bloomberg, a gala dinner prepared
by celebrity chef Nobu, and an auction
led by Simon de Pury. Gala co-chairs
were Danielle and David Ganek, Victoria and Dennis
Hopper, and Jennifer Blei Stockman.
