On
Monday, January 12, 2009, supporters of Hearing the Ovarian Cancer
Whisper (H.O.W.), a program of Palm Healthcare Foundation, filled
the West Room of The Flagler Museum in support of creating awareness
for an often silent killer.
At the luncheon, guest speaker, Professor Ian Jacobs, Dean of the
Health Science Research Institute of the University College of London,
spoke to guests about advancements taking place in the field and
how far we have already come in beating this disease.
The event also featured a silent auction of fine watches donated
by Tiffany & Co., Saks Fifth Avenue, Betteridge at Greenleaf & Crosby
and Michele. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the event will
go towards the Jacquie Liggett Fellowship for research, educational
events, and the Jacquie Liggett Angel Fund to help women with ovarian
cancer experiencing great financial need.
