Allison Rockefeller, Eric Javits and Jill Kargman.

A record 332 guests donned gorgeous hats and enjoyed glorious weather at this year's Jay Heritage Center's Annual Spring Luncheon and Fashion Presentation by Neiman Marcus Westchester at American Yacht Club in Rye on May 16. Jill Kargman, the witty Manhattan author of the newly released "Momzillas" was the guest speaker and America's foremost hat designer, Eric Javits also made a very special appearance at the event where many of his own incredibly popular signature creations were worn by models and luncheon guests alike. This is Neiman's 4th year as Title Sponsor of the hugely successful event showcasing the must-haves of summer and fall fashion, from metallics to cropped jackets. Beth Sharkey, vice president and general manager of Neiman Marcus Westchester opened the program and applauded the Jay Center's outstanding contributions to the community.

The event raised over $120,000 for the Jay Heritage Center's upcoming Fall and Spring educational programs in American History, Architecture and Landscape Conservation.  Anne Kelsey and her daughter Karen Kelsey Thomas were recognized by Westchester County Legislator, Judy Meyers, as Jay Preservation Honorees for their local conservation efforts and many years of dedication to preserving the natural beauty, charm and character of the town of Rye. Guests were also treated to a brief video illustrating the completed restoration of the Drawing Room of the Jay Mansion. The next phase of the project, overseen by renowned architects Beyer Blinder Belle, will concentrate on the Main Hall.

Suzanne Clary chaired the event along with Joan MarkMichael Kovner, Francesca Dunn, Kate Kelly and Pat Lovejoy.

The Jay Heritage Center, founded in 1992, is a not-for-profit organization whose mission,  in addition to education, is to restore and preserve the 1838 Peter Augustus Jay House, a National Historic Landmark in the Boston Post Road Historic District. In 2000, the Jay House was designated an Official Project of the Save America's Treasures Program under the aegis of First Lady, Hillary Clinton.  First Lady, Laura Bush, now serves as Honorary Chairman of the Program.
