The Jay
Heritage Center held a kickoff event to
its upcoming Spring Luncheon on March 28 at Neiman
Marcus in White Plains, NY. Jay supporters were treated
to a sneak peek at the "must haves" of
spring and summer styles of 2007 during a Fashion
Presentation by Neiman Marcus Westchester. The Luncheon
was hosted by Neiman Marcus SVP and Fashion Director, Ken
Downing and Beth Sharkey,
VP and General Manager, Neiman Marcus Westchester.
The kickoff event was attended by over 50 committee
members and Grand Patrons of the upcoming sold
out Spring Luncheon to be held on May 16 at American
Yacht Club in Rye, NY. American designer, Eric
Javits and Momzillas author Jill
Kargman will make special guest appearances.
The mission of the Jay Heritage Center is to restore
and preserve the 1838 Peter Augustus Jay House as
a center for public education. The Jay House is a National
Historic Landmark in the Boston Post Road Historic
District in Rye, New York and it is an Official Project
of the distinguished Save Americas Treasures Program currently
chaired by First Lady, Laura Bush. Overlooking
Long Island Sound, the House occupies the original
site of the Jay family farm, childhood home of Founding
Father John Jay, first Chief Justice of the United
States Supreme Court and two-term Governor of New York
(1795-1801). Proceeds from the Luncheon will benefit
the Center's programs in education in American History,
Architecture and Landscape Conservation.
