On
December 8 Cynthia and Dan
Lufkin and Audra McDonald
hosted a cocktail reception at the Montblanc
flagship store in New York City to unveil the
Juilliard Centennial Celebration Ateliers Privés
Fountain Pen honoring 100 years of Juilliard
accomplishments. This exquisite $34,000 pen is
made of solid white 18k gold and black precious
lacquer and decorated with 668 sparkling diamonds.
The “J” shaped clip pays homage to
the institution that inspired it, and a portrait
of the school’s founder A.D. Juilliard is
etched into the 18 karat gold nib. It is limited
to 8 pieces worldwide.
Juilliard’s centennial year will climax
with a black-tie gala on April 3rd, chaired by
the Lufkins, and featuring performances by Laura
Linney, Renée Fleming, Leontyne Price,
Itzhak Perlman, John Williams, Emanuel Ax, Wynton
Marsalis, Adam Hougland and Bradley
Whitford. |
