The American Museum of Natural History's Winter Dance
On February 16, The American Museum of Natural History's annual Winter Dance—consistently one of New York City's most popular junior events—drew over 700 young sophisticates to celebrate the Desert Oasis theme. Co-chairs for the gala were Claire Bernard, Zani Gugelmann, Amanda Hearst, Tinsley Mortimer, Jacqueline Sackler, and Ivanka Trump. The evening featured an intimate dinner for 200 in the Akeley Hall of African Mammals, followed by dessert and dancing in the Theodore Roosevelt Rotunda. A silent auction featured luxury items from many of New York's most exclusive retailers. Auction items included a vacation at the Palazzo Versace Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia; rounds of golf at a Trump classic in either West Palm Beach, Florida or Briarcliff Manor, New York; and a Versace suit for him and dress for her from the 2006 runway collection. Proceeds from this event support the Museum's scientific and educational programming.
