The Morgan
Library & Museum held its Spring Benefit
on March 5. The evening was a celebration of the
legendary songwriting partnership between John
Kander and Fred Ebb, whose
musicals include Cabaret, Chicago,
and Kiss of the Spider Woman. Barbara Cook and Liza
Minnelli were among the stars of stage and
screen performing in a musical tribute to the celebrated
duo.
The museum also paid tribute to Fred Ebb as a patron
of the visual arts and as a benefactor of The Morgan
Library & Museum. In 2005, the Morgan received
the gift of Mr. Ebb's extraordinary collection
of German expressionist drawings. That collection
will be on view at the Morgan in an exhibition entitled From
Berlin to Broadway from April 20 through September
7.
The Benefit Committee included Mrs. Livio
Borghese, Mrs. Gregory K. Palm, Mr.
Peter Pennoyer and Mrs. Stanley
S. Shuman.
