The
New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) held its
annual spring gala, The Conservatory Ball, on June
7. More than 700 guests from New York society, dressed
in their ball gowns and tuxedos, entered the grounds
winding through flowering trees, a beautiful herb
garden, and thousands of peonies.
Held on 250 acres of dazzling beauty and magnificent
landscape, The Conservatory Ball, cited as “the
best dressed and most elegant evening” every
year, is one of the most glamorous parties of the Spring
Season. This year, NYBG celebrates the 10th anniversary
of the restoration of America's preeminent Victorian-style
glasshouse, The Enid A. Haupt Conservatory.
The Gala chairmen were Mrs. Richard L. Chilton,
Jr. and Mrs. Marvin H. Davidson.
The Chairmen's Committee consisted of Mrs.

All proceeds raised by the Conservatory Ball will
support the core mission of the Botanical Garden, including
internationally acclaimed programs in children's
education and botanical research.
