On
April 26, The New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) hosted
its fifteenth annual Antique Garden Furniture Show
Preview Party & Collector's Plant Sale.
The finest antique fountains, urns, statues, bird cages,
benches, botanical prints, and rare gardening books
were displayed by 35 leading garden antique dealers
from around the country.
This year's Guest of Honor was the renowned
horticulturist The Dowager Marchioness of Salisbury.
Lady Salisbury designed an auricular theater to be
set amidst the herbs and flowers in the Nancy Bryan
Luce Herb Garden.
The Preview Party chairmen were Mrs. Coleman
P. Burke, Mrs. Stephen Graham, Mrs.
George B. Moore, Barbara Cirkva
Schumacher, Howard Slatkin,
and Mish Tworkowski. The Antique
Garden Furniture Show chairmen were Barbara Israel and Bunny
Williams. The Collector's Plant Sale
chairmen were James Benenson, Jr., Peter
R. McQuillan, Marjorie G. Rosen,
and Carmen Thain.
