New York City Ballet's Annual Luncheon
On February 1, New York City Ballet held its Annual Luncheon co-chaired by Jane Carroll, MaryAnne Gilmartin, Meera Ghandi, and Elyse Newhouse. This year's event The World of Jerome Robbins, was a tribute to Jerome Robbins' remarkable and unique choreography. The afternoon began with an onstage program moderated by Deborah Jowitt, author of Jerome Robbins: His Life, His Theater, His Dance. Panelists included NYCB principal dancers Kyra Nichols and Benjamin Millepied, as well as NYCB ballet master Jean-Pierre Frohlich. The program also included excerpts from Robbins' Mother Goose, In the Night, and Fancy Free, performed by NYCB dancers. An elegant luncheon on the Promenade of the New York State Theater immediately followed.
