The New York City Ballet held its Spring Gala on May 10. The evening featured two world premiere ballets as part of The Diamond Project, the Company's season-long festival of new work - Ballet Master in Chief Peter Martins' The Red Violin, set to the score by John Corigliano, and Resident Choreographer Christopher Wheeldon's Evenfall, set to Béla Bartók's Piano Concerto No. 3.

An elegant black-tie Supper Ball on the Promenade and Terrace of the New York State Theater followed the program. Nearly $2 million dollars was raised. Estrellita and Daniel Brodsky and Margo and Irwin Winkler were Gala chairmen.
