New-York Historical Society's Weekend with History Dinner

The New-York Historical Society (NYHS) held a black-tie dinner on May 5 in honor of their First Annual Chairman's Council Weekend with History.

During cocktails, there were informal remarks by historians Eric Foner, Andrew Delbanco, Sean Wilentz, Simon Schama and Henry Louis Gates, Jr.  At dinner, Doris Kearns Goodwin was presented with the first annual New-York Historical Society American History Book Prize.

In addition to the noted historians, guests included Marsha Andrews, Robert and Helen Appel, Bill and Bunny Beekman, Norman Benzaquen, Ron Chernow, Arthur E.
