N-YHS
president and CEO Louise Mirrer, Museum
director Linda S. Ferber, and director
of the Library, Jean Ashton, hosted
a reception and private viewing of the Society’s
new groundbreaking exhibition, A New Light on Tiffany:
Clara Driscoll and the Tiffany Girls, on February
28 at the New-York Historical Society.
A New Light on Tiffany is a groundbreaking new
exhibition that reveals the important contributions of
designer Clara Driscoll and her staff
in the Women’s Glass Cutting Department at Tiffany
Studios. Known as the “Tiffany Girls,” these
talented craftswomen played a major role in creating
many of the Tiffany Studios’ masterpieces, previously
thought to be the exclusive design of Louis Comfort Tiffany.
