On
Thursday, April 17, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra presented
an evening of Hungarian themed music for their Annual Gala at The
Metropolitan Club. The festivities began with cocktails, and was
followed by a private concert with members of Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.
The program included works by Sandor Veress, Haydn, Brahms, and Bartok.
The gala honorees were Daisy and Paul Soros.
Gala co-chairs were Noreen and Kenneth Buckfire and Liz and Frank
Newman. The honorary chair was John C. Whitehead.
The Grammy Award-winning Orpheus Chamber Orchestra
is internationally renowned for its fine artistry and distinctive
approach to music-making, with a performing and recording legacy
spanning 34 years. Performing with many of today's most dynamic
and esteemed soloists, Orpheus presents an annual concert series
at Carnegie Hall that illuminates both classic orchestral repertoire
