On Wednesday, November 10, 2010, the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation (PDF) held its annual Raising the Stakes at Capitale in New York City. Proceeds from this exciting and fun-filled evening will help PDF continue its vital work of funding promising scientific research. Event Co-Chairs were Jose Cruz, Peter Dorn, Dan Spanton, Amy Sole and Jeffrey Zygler.
300 guests enjoyed a evening of playing various casino games, a delicious buffet dinner, live music and dancing and a chance to win exciting prizes contributed by Bose, Macy’s, Dyson, Keurig, The Daily Show, Steve Madden, the New York Knicks and the New York Sports Club. The evening began at 7PM with a cocktail reception.
The Parkinson’s Disease Foundation is a leading national presence in Parkinson’s disease research, education and public advocacy. Created by William Black, the founder of Chock full o’Nuts, a successful New York coffee and restaurant business, PDF was the first national not-for-profit organization to focus on Parkinson’s disease. PDF is working for nearly one million people in the US living with Parkinson’s by funding promising scientific research and supporting people with Parkinson’s, their families and care partners through educational programs and support services. Since its founding in 1957, PDF has funded over $85 million worth of scientific research in Parkinson’s disease, supporting the work of leading scientists throughout the world.
