On
February 14, friends of Partnership with
Children gathered at the beautiful Upper
East Side penthouse of Jeffrey and Elizabeth
Peek to announce the organization's
upcoming Centennial Ball.
Partnership with Children is celebrating its 100th
anniversary with their Turn of Our Century
Centennial Ball at the Pierre Hotel on April
16th. Mr. Henry Ittleson, a descendant
of the founders, has arranged for his company,
CIT (which is also celebrating its 100th anniversary)
to underwrite this Centennial Ball. This festive
event, for which we encourage period dress, will
honor Jeffrey M. Peek,
president and CEO of CIT Group,
Inc., with the 2008 Ann Vanderbilt Award. Started
by New York leading ladies Mrs. William K.
Vanderbilt, Mrs. Henry Ittleson, Mrs. Charles Dana
Gibson, and Mrs. Henry O. Havemeyer at the
turn of the last century, Partnership with Children
was created by the city's first families
to help at risk children to graduate from high
school.
