Partnership with Children Turn of Our Century Ball

Over
500 friends and supporters of Partnership with Children gathered
on April 16 at the Pierre Hotel in New York City to celebrate its Turn
of Our Century Ball, which raised in excess of $1 million. In
addition Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg officially declared
April 16, 2008 “Partnership with Children Day” in New
York City. The organization, which provides emotional and social
support to at-risk children so they can succeed in school and in
life, also honored CIT chairman and CEO Jeffrey M. Peek with
the Ann Vanderbilt Award for Achievement in recognition
of his personal contribution to Partnership with Children.
The Centennial Ball chairs were Beatrice Broadwater, Thong
Nguyen, Elizabeth T. Peek and the Founders Committee includes Anthony
Ittleson and Wendy Vanderbilt. Auction
co-chairs were Susan Nicholson and Cecilia
Warner.
At the gala, MS 534 6th grader Luke Padilla spoke
about his participation in the program and Isiah Hall,
a graduate of Open Heart-Open Mind program noted the importance of
the program in his life. Attendees participated in live and silent
auctions featuring various entertainment and luxury items. Valerie
Smaldone of WLTW-FM led the live auction.
