Queens Theatre in the Park (QTP) presented its Annual Gala on Monday, May 24, 2010 at 6pm at Queens Theatre in the Park, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Flushing, NY. The event, co-chaired by Gary Kesner and Mark Misk, raised more than $250,000 to support the theatre’s cultural programs and activities.
A sold-out crowd of 450 guests attended a cocktail reception in the theatre’s new atria, followed by a ceremony recognizing the achievements and contributions of the event’s honorees, John Buran, President/CEO of Flushing Financial Corporation; Hal Rosenbluth, President of Kaufman Astoria Studios; and Caryn A. Schwab, Executive Director of Mount Sinai Queens. The evening featured a performance by four-time Grammy Award nominee rhythm and blues vocalist Oleta Adams.
Major contributors to this year's Gala included: Lead Sponsor - Flushing Financial Corporation, Major Underwriter- Kaufman Astoria Studios, Producer - Con Edison, Line Producer - Silvercup Studios, and Associate Producers; C& L Contracting Corporation, Mount Sinai Queens, On Stage, Ltd, New York Mets, National Grid, Queens Long Island Medical Group and World Wide Holdings Corp. An additional 20 organizations and individuals made $2,500 donations in addition to ticket and journal sales.
