On
June 7, The Fresh Air Fund held its
annual Spring Gala Salute to American Heroes
at Tavern on the Green in New York City. Alicia
Keys, Harry Carson and Lauren
Graham were honored and the evening was emceed
by Tiki Barber. Benefit chairmen were Peter
Boneparth, John DiRocco, Ann Fudge, and John
Kanas. Honorary
chairmen were Mariah Carey, Karen and William
Lauder, Mrs. Donald Newhouse, and Arthur
Ochs Sulzberger.
The Fresh Air Fund, an independent, not-for-profit agency
has provided free summer vacations to more than 1.7 million
inner-city children since 1877. Over 10,000 young
New Yorkers enjoy free Fresh Air Fund programs annually. Proceeds
from The Fresh Air Fund's Salute to American
Heroes help support these important programs
